Schola [MUS 275-01] is the vocal chamber ensemble of the University of Indianapolis. Membership in this highly-select, sixteen voice group is based on audition. The ensemble specializes in early music but also performs a wide range of works in foreign languages and from all style periods. Repertoire from recent years includes vocal quartets by Brahms and Rossini, sacred and secular works from the Renaissance, works for small orchestra and choir by Purcell and Handel, the Four Motets by Aaron Copland, and contemporary a cappella arrangements made popular by groups such as the King’s Singers. Schola performs on campus throughout the year and travels on an annual spring tour that includes appearances at high schools from which the group's members have graduated.
Rehearsals are held in CDFAC 108 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 2:00 until 2:50.
